1. Letter From The Wanted Man:

Howdee All,

Today is August 3rd, and I'm glad to visit with you again. This has been a very busy month, so hang on tight... I'll try to miss the bumps.

On July 13th, I was asked to sing at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Sodus, MI. They were welcoming their new pastor that Sunday, so it was a special time. After the service they had a big fellowship meal and served a hog the men had roasted all night the night before. Ummmm, roasted hog... what a meal!

On July 17th, Gene Callahan joined me in a trip to Nashville for the first official meeting of the newly formed US Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians, or USAGEM. We enjoyed the meeting and a meal with Jimmy Snow (Son of ledgendary Hank Snow) and his wife Dottie, the husband and wife team of Daniel and Teresa Johnson of Pearly Gates, Ed Crawford and Chip Cooper of The Mystery Men Quartet, and many others in the Gospel Music Industry. It was a wonderful trip, and it is good to see a group of well respected Christian Entertainers joining together to help put the Gospel back in the Gospel Music Business.

On July 20th, Elizabeth and I performed at the Glendale Baptist Church in PawPaw, MI. We had a wonderful time, there... and at the conclusion of the service two young ladies received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. What a wonderful time of worship we had that night.

On July 21st, I went to see my good friend, Lynn Fox, as the Fox Brothers traveled to Warsaw, IN. for a concert at the Kosciusko County Fair. Those guys are great, and it is always a pleasure to see good friends who love the Lord performing. I don't often get the chance to sit and enjoy someone elses performance, so this was a double treat for me.

July 26th we had Elizabeth's 6th Birthday Party. She didn't turn 6 until the 28th, but this was the best day for the party. As usual she got lots of great gifts, and had a wonderful time with her friends and family.

On both July 27th and August 3rd, Gene Callahan asked me to help him do the worship music at Living Way Foursquare Church, in New Buffalo, MI. I sang a few songs each Sunday, and Elizabeth joined me for the August 3rd Services. They have said that they want me to come do a full concert some Sunday evening, so stay tuned for dates and times!

Gene Callahan and I have been working together with the Pastor and some of the men at the New Life Baptist Church in St. Joseph Michigan to put together Victory Fest 2003. This will be a gospel music festival and carnival event with food, games, and all kinds of other stuff going on. The primary goal of Victory Fest will be evangelism.... so I ask you to please pray for us as we plan this event.

I received word today that I have been nominated for the Country Gospel Connection's CGC New Male Vocalist of the Year Award, and The Wanted Man Website has been nominated for the CGC Website of the Year Award.

I will let you know in an email later how you can go online and vote for the CGC awards. These awards are based upon fan voting, and I would appreciate your votes.

To follow up on prayer requests that I have made, my mother continues to do well with her checkups since her surgery earlier this year. My uncle Dan is doing better, and is reportedly back to work, although he is still using a cane to get around.

I do ask that you would pray for my Dad, as he goes through some tests over the next weeks, and also please keep my Uncle Curtis and my Uncle George both in your prayers as well, as they both have serious health problems.

As always, thanks for allowing me to again visit with you through this newsletter, and thanks for forwarding it around. I hear from people often who have received this newsletter as a multi-generation forward. We pray that God will bless you, and many others, through this, and our many other, ministry efforts.

2. Bible Study:

Dedication Of Possessions To God: Give Everything To God

We, as Christian people, as children of the Living God, should always dedicate and consecrate everything we have to Him who gave it to us.

Our homes need to be dedicated to God more now than at any time I have ever known. My husband and I are very blessed to live among neighbors who will do anything to help you at anytime you need them. They will even keep an eye on your place in your absence (neighborhood watch, if you will). However, I can remember just a few years ago, when the state police would come down our road going to the wooded area behind our house to search for fugitives.

Can we honestly say we are safe anywhere? It is so hard to teach our children to love others and at the same time warn them of the dangers which exist in society. But God offers us the best "security system" we can get anywhere. Ask God to bless your home, your car, all your possessions and your family.

4. Special Report: USAGEM formed in Nashville, Tennessee

This month, instead of an interview, I want to share with you some very exciting news from Nashville.

I have been blessed to be a part of the forming of a new organization in the Gospel Music Industry called the US Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians, Inc. (or AGEM, for short).

AGEM is the brainchild of Jimmy Snow (of Gospel Country Television) and Daniel Johnson (of Johnson Management and Media). The goal of the organization is to provide support and a voice for Gospel Entertainers, and bring some accountability to the music industry that claims to be Christian.

This organization will provide a level playing field for all genres of Gospel Music, providing a more fair system of charting, awards presentation, and eventually, payout of royalties to Gospel Songwriters and Publishers. Also, this organization will provide concert events in several different venues across the country to provide a showcase of talent to a wide variety of audiences.

There are representatives in this organization from both the radio and television broadcast industry, record companies, publishing companies, promition, media, management, talent agents, performers, producers, songwriters, and more, currently from five different genre of Christian music.

I am honored to be on the Advisory Board in the capacity of Technology Advisor. My main area of responsibility will be Internet/Communications and Computer Technology. Other members of the Advisory Board are Ken Woods, Joel Hemphill, Don Miller, Jimmy Snow, Daniel Johnson, Lem Kinslow, and Marty Lyon.

The Board of directors includes Tommy Lewis, representing Black (Soul) Gospel; Ed Crawford, representing Southern Gospel; Lynn Fox, representing Christian Country; Keith Manley representing Contemporary Christian; and Sandi Kay Dozier representing Bluegrass Gospel.

This is an organization dedicated to being member run, and not board run. The board it in place for equal and fair representation of all genres, and will only bring recommendations to the membership body at large. This is unlike any other organization in the industry, and represents a landmark change in the way Christian Entertainers are approaching the Industry Giants.

Please pray for AGEM, and all the people involved, that it will be an organization that can indeed shine for Christ in the Music Industry!

Information will be available about AGEM at:

5. God's Plan of Salvation

Did you know God has a plan for you?

The plan He has is called Salvation, and it is a free gift from the God of Creation to YOU through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ!

Why You Need Salvation!

Romans 3:23 tells us that; ". . .all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

And 1John 1:8 says, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

Do you believe in heaven and hell?

Matthew 25:31-34 and Matthew 25:41

"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides [his] sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, `Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:' Then He will also say to those on the left hand, `Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:'"

Did you know there's only one way to heaven?

John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'"

1Tim 2:5 "For [there] [is] one God and one Mediator between God and men, [the] Man Christ Jesus."

So, how can I be sure I will go to heaven?

John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

If you feel God is speaking to your heart right now, please pray this prayer

"Jesus, I believe You died on the Cross for me and that God raised You from the dead. I believe You took upon Yourself the punishment for my sins and my guilt. I know that You are the only Way to Heaven, and now I ask You to forgive me of every sin and come into my heart.

Jesus, I now make you LORD of my life...

I will love You, serve You, and obey You all the days of my life.

Thank You Jesus, for dying for me and giving me a new life in You.

AMEN"

If you have sincerely prayed this prayer for salvation in faith, believing that Jesus is the Living Son of GOD, the Bible promises that you now are a Child of God, and a joint heir with Jesus Christ.

Please locate a local church and speak to a Pastor. Also, please email The Wanted Man at testimony@thewantedman.com and tell me of your salvation experience. I want to rejoice with you and pray for you as you begin your walk with Christ.
